Forschung & High-Potential Programme

Diverse Fields of Technology

Since its foundation, the Techniker-Cercle has used the net proceeds from the Ball of Industry and Technology to support research projects and scholarships at TU Wien.

The research projects supported in this way offer a fascinating insight into the diversity of research and scientific work carried out at TU Wien.

The new website now provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the projects receiving support.

Once again, it highlights the important role played by the Techniker-Cercle in supporting teaching and research at TU Wien.

High-Quality Education

Talent Programme

Over the past eight years, more than 450 students have taken the opportunity to broaden their professional skills beyond their completed university education through the Talent Programme.

To help students acquire key skills, TU Wien offers an extensive interdisciplinary programme of further education and personal development. Students also have the opportunity to establish direct contact with attractive employers in the fields of technology and the natural sciences. This gives them a valuable opportunity to gain an insight into renowned Austrian companies and acquire experience that will benefit their future careers.

TU Wien Doctoral Colleges

TU Wien makes an important contribution to academic excellence through its structured Doctoral Colleges, which are offered annually and run for a period of three years.

One of their key objectives is to increase the proportion of women undertaking doctoral studies. The programme gives students close access to internationally recognised cutting-edge research, structured and intensive supervision, and interdisciplinary training.

Soft skills such as teamwork are developed alongside students’ integration into the academic research environment and national and international research networks. Essential additional qualifications – including project management, communication techniques and leadership skills – are also an integral part of the programme.

Both educational programmes are co-funded by the proceeds from the Ball of Industry and Technology.
